Nagpur | In today’s completely digital era, children have easy access to educational content, gadgets and entertainment, which has significantly reduced the need for physical effort and deep mental engagement. While technology has made learning convenient, it has also impacted children’s concentration levels and thinking abilities. Addressing this growing challenge, the global child development programme UCMAS (Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System) has emerged as an effective medium to strengthen children’s brain power, memory, concentration and problem-solving skills. Designed for children between 5 and 13 years of age, UCMAS focuses on activating both hemispheres of the brain, enabling children to think faster, sharper and more accurately, even in a highly distraction-driven digital environment.

UCMAS India Head Simplisio Menezes highlighted the importance of the “Six Finger Technique,” calling it the backbone of the programme. He explained that the method makes mathematics simple and engaging while significantly improving visualization, listening skills, memory and concentration abilities that are useful beyond academics. Parents also shared positive feedback, calling the programme effective and stress-free for children. Many observed that the healthy competition among students from across the state is building confidence and preparing them for future challenges.
